Motion controls

As with the adoption of motion controls by all consoles, one has to think that they are kinda wasting peoples money. The Wii has had it since day one and it was a huge success for them, they catered to the casual crowd and they loved it.

But now since the fad had died down Sony and Microsoft have decided to get into the game of motion. But its still not enough, With Sony you have the Playstation move, it has intense accuracy and tracking capability, but in order for it to work at 100% you have to have 3 different pieces of hardware. Microsoft got a little closer to the direction we need to be headed. Kinect uses body tracking and head tracking through IR to get the perspective that you need to "interact" with games.  I personally thing Kinect has much more life to it than the others because it can do so much.
But as with all game developers and producers they need to make the games to actually take advantage of the potential each motion controller has. So until then we will still see the same mediocre games.

watch this video to see where we are headed.

  2. the ps move would be great for fps games because of its accuracy, kinect on the other hand is more for casual games, you can't play fps or other "more serious" games without a gamepad...you gotta have buttons :)

  15. I'm not a big fan of the gimmick games. If you can't give us actual games with actual content, get out. That's my opinion at least.

  21. I like the addition of motion controls to all of this gens consoles, sure they haven't really reached into the hardcore market yet and there is still a lot of innovation to be done. I can't wait to see what indie developers come up with new and exciting ways to use the technology.

  25. Still not convinced I need it. Even the Wii doesn't have any real "killer apps" that make motion controls a must have.
