Since the start of "Farmville" and games like that we have seen a constant decline in the quality of our games. As developers try to get the most money out of their shitty project i find that they are leaving the hardcore, the ones that have stuck with them, behind, and they're not looking back. . . . .
Take for example Halo:Reach, the population was at 2.5 million a day, now its much lower, in just a month it is now down to 1.5 million a day. The halo the population has actually boomed. What does that tell you? They fucked up! This is what happens when you try to cater to the causal crowd and stiff arm the hardcore. (same damn thing happened with CoD:Modernwarfare 2)
Sorry for the rant but i just hate greedy companys, that don't give a damn about their true clientele and fan base.
Couldn't agree more.
ReplyDeleteGreed is ruining the quality of games nowadays.
Only good game released in the past year has to be Starcraft II.
Yeah, that sad but true. They make more money with casual players, and ruin gameplay for hardcore ones
ReplyDeleteyou have to admit there is a much higher need for casual games than hardcore games.
ReplyDeleteand in the end everyone just wants to make as much money as possible ;)
Amen, Emelie. Starcraft II rocks!
ReplyDeleteMan, I haven't even picked up a game less than 3 years or so old in I don't know how long. Whenever it was that I ran through the new Wolfenstein (which made me want to go play Enemy Territory anyway).
ReplyDeleteCorporate America man, you can't stop it
ReplyDeleteIt seems like everyone soon will be hooked on these new "mini-game" type productions. where is the love for the originals?
ReplyDeletethey ruined wow with the casual friendlyness.
ReplyDeletecan't really fight it. there are some good casual titles too, but they are rare.
ReplyDeleteinteresting viewpoint.
ReplyDeleteyeah you are rigth farmville is piece of crab
ReplyDelete"Hardcore" games are pretty much by definition a niche market, and it's hardly surprising that a business is trying to appeal to the maximum amount of people possible.
ReplyDeletenicceeeee
ReplyDeletecrappy games are crappy?
ReplyDeleteinteresting, I didn't know that...
ReplyDeleteGTL4life!
I hate farmville with a passion. They are companies who want to make money. They'll cater to whichever 'category' of people is greater.
ReplyDeletei agree with you
ReplyDeletetotally agreed :D
ReplyDeleteI hate how the games come out half-ass then put a bunch of Download content that you have to buy to make the game decent.
ReplyDeletethats how I feel about bands who sell out and I hate farmville its bullshit >_<
ReplyDeletei hate those facebook games
ReplyDeletethis is relevant to just what I was thinking about
ReplyDeleteI played Farmville for a little while. I have no interest in it now.
ReplyDeleteyeah i hate greedy companies also.
ReplyDeleteAll about the money these days
ReplyDeletesadly true... i still play unreal tournament 2004 :)
ReplyDeleteThey are simply following the money
ReplyDeleteWell to be honest, they've been dumbing down games for years now. Games are being released with 6 hours of content, but they justify it with online play. Before online play, games had to have challenging content or they wouldn't sell. Online play is no excuse when it comes to content.
ReplyDeletegood wolf
ReplyDeletefolow pls my glog
:D
Gaming is just another money making industry. That's about it.
ReplyDeletevery nice man good stuff
